How we decide what to trust
Every fact on the site says where it came from, and when.
Trust levels
- Verified
- A person checked it, and the page shows the date they did.
- Sourced
- Has a source link, or comes from the maker or our editor.
- Unknown
- Nobody has given us a source, and we never guess. Unknown is not the same as No.
How evidence is weighted
An editor's ride counts for more than someone else's memory of one. Rider reports and linked forum threads are coming soon, and when they arrive they will rank below a ride on a real trainer. Ratings will only ever come from rider reports. We never rate an app from a press release.
Freshness
- Every fact is re-checked every 90 days. Past that, it is marked as stale.
- An app with no activity for 12 months is marked as possibly abandoned. We flag it. We never quietly remove it, because plenty of riders still have it installed.
- An app carries a New badge for 90 days after we first spotted it.
Ratings
A score for an area only shows once at least 3 riders have rated it. Before that you see "Not enough riders yet". Top rated uses a weighted average, so one enthusiastic 5-star report can't push an app to the top.
